Keep That Fridge Clean

(pretend this picture is rotated...it is on my hard drive, but when I put it here, it turns...grrrr)

I promised y'all another fridge tip last week and here it is. Now, this is not earth-shattering, or anything, but it helps me keep my fridge clean - so hopefully it can help you too! (Not that your fridge is messy or anything...I'm just sayin').

Problem: Fruits or veggies leak or somehow rot and drip nasty smelly juice all in the drawer make a mess in your produce drawers.

Solution: Place a couple of paper towels in the bottom of the produce drawers to catch any stray drips or other (ahem) messes that might happen there.

Like I said...not earth-changin', but definitely helpful!

7 love notes to me!:

Jen I do that too . I went to the dollar store and they have these green mats that are suppose to help keep your food longer. I thought I would try them but not sure they work at all. They make the drawers look great but I think I like the paper towel idea better.
thanks for sharing

You know what else works great? A section from an old newspaper! I do this and sure does make cleanup easier! (BTW, I use my second drawer for meat only, and that newspaper sure helps to keep that drawer cleaner!)
PS--I never heard of the green mats Diane mentions, but I've tried "Green Bags" and I love 'em!

Love the idea using the paper towel. I hate cleaning the refrigerator and hate it even more when there is green liquid stuff floating around on the bottom of the drawer!! Can't wait to try it.

I totally need to do that! And yes, we should definitely go get a yummy chocolate dessert! Just tell me when! I'm there!

Why is it that something so logical like that has to be banged into my head. It's like a big a DUH across the forehead...thanks for the very helpful reminder!

This is such a simple tip that I'm embarrassed not to have thought of it myself!

Thanks for the daily carnival suggestions that you left in my blog, by the way. Just what I was looking for!

I'm also in the DUH category! We don't use paper towels at home (one of my small attempts to help the environment), but we sure do have a lot of newspaper. I bet even a hand towel would do the trick.

Except, I have to clean the drawers first, right? Yeah, so it might be a while.
