Roll N Grow, Anyone?

As the kids & I drove home from church today, I noticed some beautiful zinnias in lots of colors in a yard we passed.

I commented on their beauty:

Me -"Look at those beautiful colorful flowers, guys."

Taylor - "Yeah."

Zach - "They probably used Roll N Grow."

Yeah...I'm sure they did Zach. All beautiful flowers come from an infomercial, right?

A Taylor Funny

So I don't post for 10 days, then I write 2 posts in one day. Go figure. Don't miss the unforgettable post commemmorating Mike & I's first date anniversary.

So, Taylor had to have some bloodwork done today. She was not happy. But I did bribe her with a new webkinz. I think it kind of worked. After we were done at the doctor, I texted her dad (he was in a meeting) and called my mom to fill them in on how everything went. When I started dialing my mom's number, Taylor pipes up from the backseat.

Taylor - "So who are you calling now?"

Me - "Your grandma. She wants to know how it went."

Taylor - "Why don't you just have a parade? Then everyone can find out what is going on."

OK - a little bit sassy and a whole lot funny.

I Stand Corrected

Mike and Zach went on a father/son campout with our church on Friday night. That left Taylor and I with a girl's night. It was a blast! On Saturday, we were running errands and listening to Radio Disney. After listening to a strange song for a minute, I suggested we change it. It was kind of rappish and just not my style. Taylor wanted to finish listening to it.

Me - "OK."

After the song ended with some alien sounding voice...

Taylor - "I stand corrected. You were right. That song was not good at all."

Me - (stifling a giggle) "Did you just say 'I stand corrected'?"

Taylor - (serious as can be) (shrugs) "I guess I did."

Me - "Where did you learn that phrase? From TV?"

Taylor - "I don't know. It just feels like I've always known it."

HILARIOUS. Such big words at 8 years old.
